Shout
Shout Documentation
Unified messaging hub — broadcast to Slack, Teams, Email, and SMS from a single composer. Write once, reach everywhere.
Getting Started
Connecting your first channel
Go to Shout > Channels > Add Channel. Select your platform — Slack, Microsoft Teams, Email, or SMS — and follow the authentication steps. Each channel requires its own separate authentication. Once connected, the channel appears in your channel list with a green indicator.
Composing a broadcast
Click New Broadcast to open the composer. Write your message in the main text field. Select the channels to send to from the panel on the right. Use the Preview tab to see exactly how your message will appear on each platform before sending — formatting can differ between channels.
Message history
All sent broadcasts are logged in Shout > History with the send time and delivery status for each channel. Click any broadcast to see channel-level delivery reports, including error details for any failed deliveries.
Channels
Slack
Connect via OAuth. You select which workspace and which channels to broadcast to during setup. Shout sends messages as the SuiteCorn bot in those channels. Your Slack workspace admin must approve the Shout integration from Slack's App Management before users can connect.
Microsoft Teams
Connect via Microsoft 365 OAuth. Select channels or post to direct message threads. Your M365 admin must approve the SuiteCorn app in the Azure AD enterprise application list. Channel posts appear as SuiteCorn bot messages.
Connect your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account. Broadcasts are sent from your email address — not a generic noreply address. You can add a CC list and a custom reply-to address for each broadcast in the Advanced section of the composer.
SMS (Twilio)
Requires a Twilio account and a configured phone number. Add your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token in Settings > Shout > SMS. Messages are sent from your Twilio number. Standard Twilio SMS rates apply — these are charged to your Twilio account, not SuiteCorn.
Templates
Creating templates
Go to Shout > Templates > New Template. Give it a name (visible only to your team), write your default message body, and save. Templates appear in the composer's template picker for fast reuse — useful for recurring announcements or standard status updates.
Variables and personalisation
Use {{variable_name}} syntax in templates for dynamic content. For example, {{date}}, {{recipient_name}}, or {{event_title}}. Variable values are filled in when you compose a broadcast using that template. Unfilled variables are highlighted in amber before you send.
Scheduling
Toggle the Schedule option in the composer to pick a future date and time for delivery. Scheduled broadcasts appear in the Scheduled tab and can be edited or cancelled any time before they send. Shout sends at the scheduled time in the timezone set in your organisation profile.
Troubleshooting
Messages not delivering
Check the History tab for channel-level delivery status. A red indicator means the channel rejected the message — this is usually due to an expired OAuth token (common after password changes) or a bot being removed from a channel. Reconnect the affected channel from Shout > Channels > Edit > Reconnect.
Channel auth errors
OAuth tokens are revoked when account passwords change or an admin removes app access. Reconnect the channel from Shout > Channels, select the channel, and click Reconnect. For Teams and Slack workspace-level connections, your IT admin may need to reauthorise the app.
