What is NextUp?
NextUp is your intelligent task command center that aggregates tasks, calendar events, and actionable emails from all your connected tools into a single, prioritized action list. Using AI, NextUp analyzes your day and provides smart insights to help you stay focused on what matters most.

Getting Started
Connect Your Apps
Go to Dashboard → Integrations and connect your productivity tools (Microsoft 365, Google, Asana, etc.)
Configure Settings
In NextUp → Settings, enable the specific services you want to aggregate (Outlook, Calendar, Planner, etc.)
View Your Action List
NextUp will automatically load your tasks, meetings, and actionable emails into a unified list.
Take Action
Click on any item to view details, complete tasks, or open the source system.
Settings & Configuration
Microsoft 365 Services
After connecting your Microsoft account, you can enable/disable individual services:
- Outlook Email: Enable AI-powered email task extraction
- Calendar: Show today's meetings and calculate available time
- To Do: Import tasks from Microsoft To Do
- Planner: Sync tasks from Microsoft Planner boards
- Teams: Pull action items from Teams messages
Dark Mode
Toggle dark mode for a more comfortable viewing experience in low-light environments.
Refresh Data
Use the "Refresh Data" button in the sidebar to manually sync your latest tasks and events.
Creating Quick Tasks
The Quick Task feature lets you rapidly capture tasks using a simple three-field format:
- What: The task description (required)
- Who: Who the task is for (optional, defaults to "Someone")
- When: Due date (optional)
Quick tasks appear in your action list with a checkbox. Click the checkbox to mark them complete.
AI Features
Daily Insights
At the top of your dashboard, you'll see AI-generated insights about your day. The AI analyzes:
- Your meeting schedule and available time
- Overdue tasks and upcoming deadlines
- Schedule conflicts and tight timelines
- Unread email counts and actionable items
Smart Email Processing
When Outlook is enabled, NextUp's AI reviews your recent emails and:
- Identifies emails that require action or response
- Consolidates related emails into single action items
- Suggests due dates based on email urgency
- Filters out newsletters, notifications, and FYI messages
Tips & Best Practices
Review your action list each morning to understand your workload and plan your day.
Checking off quick tasks marks them complete. For integration tasks, click to open in the source system.
The AI insight at the top of your dashboard often highlights important overdue tasks or schedule conflicts.
Capture fleeting thoughts as quick tasks so you don't forget them later.
If you find your action list too crowded, disable services you don't actively use in Settings.
Troubleshooting
Tasks Not Showing Up
- Check that the integration is connected in Dashboard → Integrations
- Ensure the specific service is enabled in NextUp → Settings
- Try clicking "Refresh Data" in the sidebar
- Verify your integration hasn't expired (check Dashboard → Integrations status)
Calendar Events Missing
- Make sure Calendar is enabled in NextUp Settings
- Check that events are scheduled for today (NextUp only shows today's events)
- Verify calendar permissions in your Microsoft/Google account settings
AI Insights Not Relevant
The AI learns from your actual schedule and tasks. Make sure your integrations are connected and populated with data for more accurate insights.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does NextUp work offline?
No, NextUp requires an internet connection to sync with your integrated services.
Can I create tasks in other systems from NextUp?
Currently, NextUp is read-only for integrated services. You can create Quick Tasks within NextUp, but tasks from other systems must be created in those systems.
How often does NextUp sync?
NextUp syncs automatically when you load the page and when you click "Refresh Data". Email processing happens in real-time when enabled.
Is my email data private?
Yes. Email content is processed server-side with AI but is never stored. Only extracted task information is saved.
