Atlas Documentation

AI-powered corporate knowledge assistant — ask questions about your policies, people, and organisational knowledge in plain language.

Getting Started

What Atlas can do

Atlas is an AI assistant trained on your organisation's specific knowledge. It can answer questions about your policies (from Comply), your team, your procedures, and your M365 documents. It does not search the internet — every answer is grounded in your own data.

Your first conversation

Open Atlas and type any question in plain language. Atlas responds based on your configured knowledge sources. If no sources are connected yet, it will indicate what it needs to get started. You don't need special syntax — write the way you'd ask a colleague.

Setting your organisation context

Go to Settings > Atlas > Organisation Profile. Add your organisation name, industry, and any standing instructions (e.g. "Always respond in Australian English"). These are injected into every Atlas session to keep answers relevant and consistent.

Core Features

Asking questions

Type any question naturally. Atlas understands context within a conversation — follow-up questions like "Can you simplify that?" or "What about for contractors?" work as expected. Atlas will tell you when it doesn't have enough information rather than guessing.

Chat history

Previous conversations are saved and accessible from the sidebar. Atlas does not carry memory between separate conversation sessions — each new chat starts fresh. Use the history panel to reference or share a previous exchange.

Starting new conversations

Click "New Chat" to start fresh. Starting a new chat clears the active context, so Atlas won't confuse topics between sessions. This is useful when switching between unrelated subjects.

Dark mode

Atlas follows your system-level dark mode preference automatically. You can override this in Settings > Appearance to force light or dark mode regardless of your system setting.

Integrations

Microsoft 365 integration

Connect via Settings > Atlas > Integrations > Microsoft 365. Atlas can search SharePoint sites, Teams channels, and Outlook (with your admin's approval). Access is read-only — Atlas never writes to or modifies your M365 content.

Connecting Comply policies

When Comply is active in your organisation, Atlas automatically indexes all policies with status Active. Policies in Draft or In Review are not visible to Atlas. Re-indexing happens every 4 hours, so newly published policies may take up to 4 hours to appear in Atlas answers.

Organisation settings

Admins can control which document types Atlas indexes, set restricted topics (e.g. salary data), and review conversation logs from Settings > Atlas > Administration. Restricted topics produce a polite refusal rather than an answer.

Troubleshooting

Atlas not responding

Check your internet connection. If Atlas shows a spinner for more than 15 seconds, refresh the page. If the issue persists, contact support with the session ID shown at the bottom of the chat window — this helps us trace the exact request.

Context not accurate

Atlas answers based only on what it has been given. If an answer seems outdated, check whether the relevant Comply policy or SharePoint document has been updated recently — Atlas re-indexes every 4 hours. If a document was published within the last 4 hours, wait and try again.

Chat history missing

Chat history is stored per-account. If you log in on a new device or browser, your history will repopulate within 30 seconds once your session is verified. If history is still missing after 60 seconds, contact support.
